GIEMSA SOLUTION
Polychromatic solution of Eosin Y, Methylene Blue and azure dyes
For use in hematology, cytology and staining samples of sections of hematopoietic organs in histopathology

Giemsa solution is used for differentiation between nuclear and/or cytoplasmic morphology of blood
cells and blood parasites. One of the most popular methods in which the Giemsa solution is used in
combination with May-Gruenwald solution in the May-Gruenwald-Giemsa (MGG) method according
to Pappenheim. It is recommended to use buffer solution (pH 6.8) during Pappenheim method to
prepare working Giemsa solution, but also during section rinsing in order to secure consistency and
reliability of the staining results (hues range).
